What If I Don’t Have Health Insurance and I Am Hurt In an Accident?

We see clients who often times do not have health insurance, but have suffered serious injuries in an accident. They ask whether it is appropriate for us to help them find a doctor who will treat their injuries without insurance. Although we don’t refer cases to any specific doctor, we do assist clients in finding a medical doctor who would be willing to treat their injuries. We view our role in this as both a necessary duty and an ethical duty. Our role as lawyers is to first and foremost help injured people. If they are unable to obtain medical service to treat their injuries, then we have already failed them.

Although insurance companies will certainly try to argue that we have sent a person to a certain doctor for treatment to make a claim for injuries, an injured person should have the right to have medical treatment when they are injured due to no fault of their own.

If you have been injured and are unable to obtain medical treatment due to the unavailability of health insurance, please contact the Milwaukee personal injury lawyers at Welcenbach Law, we can see if there is something we can do to help you recover from your injuries.
